冬の枯れ野に
プレゼント

　年の終わりから初めにかけて、南伊豆、爪木崎の温暖な
海岸地帯に、スイセンの群落が見られるという。

季節はずれの花の便りに、さっそく車を走らせ小田原へ、
海岸線に沿ってルート１３５号をいっきに南下し、爪木崎に
急いだ。

車窓から、

眩しく冬の海が何度となく通りすぎると、爪木崎がやっと見
えた。

相模灘から送られる風は冷たい。
南伊豆といっても、やはり冬にちがいはないのだ。
ほんとに、花は咲いているのだろうか？

少し不安げに枯れ野を歩くと、
岬の突端に、、、、、スイセンの群落が急に明るく見え始めた。

白花の香気が、、、次々と吹き寄せる海風にのって、
また冬の海原に散っていった。

線形の平たい葉の間から、可憐で清楚な花々が、
季節をドキッと錯覚させる生命力に満ち満ちている。

斜光が、冬に華やぐ彼女たちを祝福するかのように、

やさしい冬の光をプレゼントしていた。
